|Chapter 30||Chapter 32|
Professor Rowell and Rood are facing each other in the courtyard while students gather around. Rowell hands him a practice sword and starts to attack. Rood dodges twice before blocking with the sword which then snaps in half. Rood’s friends wonder if they should call the other professors. Lapis enters the scene, angry that Rowell is having a private lesson with a first year student.
Rowell hands Rood another practice sword and tells him to infuse his mana so that it will not break. He throws the sword away and refuses the lesson, angering Rowell. The two argue and Lapis steps in, offering to have the lesson instead. Rowell immediately rejects him and begins to drag Rood off to a quieter place but Lidusis, Lin, and Dio appear and stops her. Dio protests that Rood cannot fight because of his “weak body”. Lapis comes to the false realization that this must be the reason why he refused so much and offers to be his substitute. Again, he is immediately rejected. Rowell finally leaves.
That night, Rood is frustrated that he cannot get in contact with Master to ask him questions about his current concerns. He goes back to the dorm in case the shadowy figure returns. He reminisces about his day, more accurately, when he thanked his friends for saving him from Rowell. In the memory, Lidusis smiled for the first time. It begins raining and elsewhere, Lady Artian says she feels that something bad will happen.
